その方法は、言語や遺伝子を比較して、系統を描くことに、似ています。

当講座の場にもなった美術館建築を作例に、建築家のオリジナリティを探ります。

You can identify where/when a work is from, with analysis of its style or techniques.

That way is analogous to comparative-linguistics or molecular-phylogenetics.
